Minor Protection Policy

02Parental Consent

Where required by law, a minor under the applicable age of digital consent must have verifiable parental consent before their account is fully activated. We provide parents and guardians a way to review their child's information, consent to or refuse collection, and request deletion. We collect from minors only the information reasonably necessary to provide the Service and never condition participation on disclosing more than is needed.

03Data Protection for Minors

• We do not sell the personal information of minors and do not serve targeted advertising to users we know to be under 18.
• We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking (see our Cookie Policy).
• We minimize the data we collect from minors and protect it with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring.
• Employers who receive a minor's application may use that information only to evaluate the specific job and must protect and delete it as required (see our Employer Agreement).
• Minors and their parents can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information at any time via privacy@teenwurk.com or our Data Deletion instructions.

04Employer Screening

Because employers can reach young job seekers, we apply added scrutiny to employer accounts. We may:

• Verify employer identity and business information before or after account creation;
• Review and screen job postings for compliance with child-labor and safety laws before they go live;
• Monitor for red flags such as requests for money, personal images, or off-platform contact;
• Suspend or remove employers who violate our policies or attempt to circumvent our protections.

Screening reduces risk but is not a guarantee. We encourage teens and parents to stay alert and report anything that feels wrong.

05Communication Safeguards

• Adults may contact minor users only through the Service and only about legitimate job opportunities.
• Requesting off-platform contact, home addresses, personal financial details, or photos from a minor is strictly prohibited.
• We deploy filtering and monitoring on messaging to detect grooming, harassment, solicitation, and other harmful behavior.
• Users can block and report any account or message directly in the app.
• Any sexual, romantic, or exploitative contact toward a minor results in immediate permanent removal and referral to authorities.

06Incident Response

When we receive a report or detect a potential safety issue involving a minor, we act quickly. Depending on the situation, we may:

• Restrict or remove the offending content and suspend the account immediately;
• Preserve relevant records as permitted or required by law;
• Report suspected child exploitation to law enforcement and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC);
• Notify affected users and, where appropriate, their parents or guardians;
• Cooperate with lawful investigations.

To report an urgent safety concern, email safety@teenwurk.com. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

07Parent & Guardian Rights

Parents and legal guardians can:

• Review the personal information we have collected from their child;
• Request that we correct or delete their child's information;
• Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child's information;
• Revoke consent and request account deletion at any time.

To exercise these rights, contact privacy@teenwurk.com. We may need to verify your identity and relationship to the child before acting on a request.
